Post 13 - Kindness is for Seniors

Hello everyone,

I apologize for not posting in a while.  Things were a little busy towards the end of the semester and the holidays were right around the corner.  With that said, I hope that all of you had a happy holiday season and a wonderful start to 2014.  With the New Year here, I thought would start off by telling you all about a project which I participated in for the holidays of 2013.  The Peer Educators of Washburn University decided to collect Christmas donations for a group of senior citizens living in a local nursing home.  Over the course of a few weeks, Peer Educators collected a number of items.  These include: socks, board games, lotions, blankets, puzzles, and more.  Around the holiday season, a lot of people get caught up in the busy times.  Therefore, we thought it would be a good idea to collect donations to help out local seniors within the community who may not have gotten noticed.  All in all, I feel that the project was a success.  There is always room for improvement, which is why we need to set the goal higher for this year’s holiday season.  I hope that you all enjoyed reading this post and that you had a wonderful start to your new year.  Remember to stay safe and be kind.
